Quick update on what’s coming ahead, we are looking at the weather forecast for the next few days it looks like Saturday January 20th is the best day to do the Activation Race, if weather stays true we will go for it. The birds are flying well and hope to get 1 or 2 road trainers before activation. This year has been very challenging with the weather, something we can’t control.
Stay tune and pay your fees as early as possible, this year we will take Zelle, Credit & Debit Cards, all payment options will be on our website soon. If you are planning on mailing your fees make sure they get here on time, we can’t have any more delays.
Non-activated birds or late payments in the mail will become property of Florida Pigeon Derby and they will be offered to other breeders to activate.

Quick update on the birds, we are loft flying again due to weather, it’s frustrating not being able to train the way we want to but we can’t fight Mother Nature. The forecast is not looking good for the next couple of days, we are monitoring the weather closely and if we find a break we will take it. Hope you all have a great day.

Today we finished a hand inventory that we felt it was needed before moving forward, it’s not fun to find these on basketing night especially with the amount of birds we have.
Summary of the findings:
17 birds (No Chip)
74 birds (Chip Not Working)
Total of 91 birds not scanning
We are correcting these issues today and doing a fresh update with Benzing in the morning. We are planning to Loft Fly tomorrow so these birds that were corrected should come up on tomorrow’s loft fly. We will be back on the road this Saturday, good luck to all.

Quick update on the birds, they are flying much better with the new feed. Today the plan was to loft fly again and we couldn’t due to weather, rain and strong winds forecasted for the next 4 days. We will keep an eye closely and hoping to find a break in between to loft fly. We are behind on schedule which means that all the race dates will change. We will post the new schedule for the races once we are done with activation. Thank you for your patience.
We wanted to give you all a quick update how things are doing at the loft, please watch the video. It looks like we are back on track, birds are responding well to the new feed and hoping to be back on the road again in a few days. Thank you for your patience.
The last two 16 mile tosses have been challenging for the birds, the early arrivals seem very tired when they land and many returning late which is not normal for these short distance tosses. The birds feel good, weight is good, no signs of canker or cocci, droppings are nearly perfect.
We were thinking we had some respiratory issue but they were treated recently. After reaching out two different vets we came to the conclusion that there is a problem with the feed we are using, effective right now we are changing vendors and start using a new feed and hoping to see some positive changes real soon. For now we will postpone road training until we are 100% sure they are fit and healthy to perform. This will push back the schedule a bit but the birds are our number one priority and we need to make sure they are healthy to get back on the road.
