Im sending this message as an email to all of you that have signed up for the WFA OLR that have not sent birds as of today to let you know that were on the last 4 weeks on accepting birds. There are approximately 100 more birds committed to the race, that would put the count at almost 350 birds.Thats not bad for a small race like ours. On a different note, the weather here in utah is back to winter 2'' this morning. Some of ther older birds are already going thru the body molt. I will start cutting the tenth flight in a few days then pull three weeks later( only on the older birds). Will also get an inventory out to you in a day or two. Thanks David L.

Good morning to you all.Two days ago I upgraded my internet that was going to make my internet faster and safer and it would protect my personal info better, well right after I upgraded, my email was hacked and I no longer can access my email ( what a joke) It will take a few days to fix the problem. If you need to get a hold of me please call me @ 801-703-5817. Not the best time  for an email to go down, now that birds are being shipped. David L

Hello everybody, We are now over 200 birds and have another 90 or so birds on the reserved list, hopfully we can get up to the three hundred mark. Im now letting the birds out almost every nice day . Once they start flying good and get them all on the same page I will start picking it up and getting more emails, messages and wincompanion inventory out to you flyers. I  give the birds a bath once a week. I feed the birds twice a week my own liittle witches brew, Some omega oil on the feed with some garlic, apple cider vinager with probotics and a few other things. I keep grit in the loft 24/7.We have had a few birds come up missing from loft flying and those flyers have been notified.A bird with a broken leg that was to severe to fix and one bird that was snatched by a hawk. We normally dont have trouble with birds of prey, I see them once in a great while. I wouldnt worry to much about  them. Thank you for trusting me with your birds, and hope all goes well with you and your families. David L.

Good afternoon, You are getting an automatic email to let you know if your bird (s) are in the loft. As always with a large group of birds there will be some that the sensor pad wont pick up. There will be other birds that the band is no good, I noticed one today. These birds are very difficult to locate in the loft it can take months to find these birds unless your willing to take one bird at a time to find the one thats not working. Today looks like it went pretty good. I know we are down two birds off the loft. The rules state that we will not be taking replacement birds this year . that was put in the rules more or less to keep the later birds from coming in too late, very hard to get these birds caught up with the rest. However I will ammend the rule so that if you loose a bird in the yearly part of spring (to middle of April )and if you wish to replace your bird I will allow it. This will also depend on the feed back I get. If one flyer feels this is wrong and that I should stick with the rules on this I will revoke my offer. Thanks David L.PS I know that my spelling and sentence structure is not the goodest please no laughing or comments(LOL).

Good morning, The birds have now been let out of the loft about a dozen times, that doesnt mean that they all have been let out. I only let out about thirty at a time, I dont want to many out  at once. Will take a little time but will have them out flying in a couple of weeks. I said I will get another inventory last week sorry for not getting you one, will get one for you tomorrow. I had one bird die in the loft the other day and had a bird or two take right off from the loft there first time out, not sure if they made it back. Some of these birds were pretty old when they were shipped. The weather here in Utah is finally warming up, will be able to start working with the birds a little more. Good luck to everybody and have a great day. David L.

Good morning, I've started to let the birds out. I do it in the later hours and then only for an hour or less and only about 30 at a time. I dont let all of them out at the same time its way to many birds and to much confusion. One bird gets spooked and they all go up.This is the nerve racking part of OLR training.I'll send out another inventory this week end. David L

As per my earlier post that the early birds seem to do better than the later birds that still holds true however, the winter here in Utah is a very cold one this year and Im afraid if people send February birds it my be a little to hard to get them out on the loft with such frigid conditions. I would recommend sending birds closer to March. If anybody has questions feel free to call me or send me an e-mail. Thanks David L.
