The winds ended up a little stronger than forecast, which made for a tough race. The first 150 miles was easy the second was windy. 20-25mph west wind (crosswinds) at 140 miles from home. Then the winds turned to 10-15mph SW wind (headwind) the last 75 miles. We will keep the clock on for a few days. Fog and clouds this morning. We expect more birds today once the fog burns off. We hope everyone had a good time this weekend. We appreciate the support. The prizes are posted on the race sheet. Congratulations to the SUPER SIX, Little Reata Loft (Gary Nelson), Marty Ladin, UTAZ (Jones Boys and Tom Hill), David Clausing), Lloyd Felix and Marty Martinez, and Victor and Radito.

The birds are out at 7:35. Very cold 10 degrees, 5 mph NW wind at release ( tailwind). Weather at loft will be 69 degrees today with a SW wind 7-10 mph. Good luck to everyone. Lunch at 12:00 at the loft. Raffle will start at 1:00.

474 potential birds for the race. The birds are ready. Hope to see you at shipping 2:00pm Saturday Feb 16th.

The other two injured birds are OCC 2059 and FVC 1633. We will short toss tomorrow.

Another bird to the hawks AVO 503. Two other birds injured; I will get those numbers. Very windy at the loft. The birds are having a very difficult time landing. Most of the later birds are coming from the south, they overflew.

Yesterdays 35 mile toss. A hawk got a bird on the landing board as the birds were coming in. Some birds flew around the loft for hours. They did not want to go back onto the board. We threw the droppers over and over, the birds would come down and hover over the board and take off again. We will let the birds rest and set out bath pans in the loft today.

Very foggy this morning. We will loft fly this afternoon, weather permitting. Looks like rain tomorrow. We will go long on Sunday or Monday. The birds look super and droppings are right.

Itinerary, directions and entry forms went in the mail Friday. We will have one more long toss before the race . We will also toss the birds short up to the race. All entry fees will be returned if your bird does not go to the race. Please have entries in by Feb 12th, if you are not attending shipping on Feb 16th. All birds that are not paid in full by Feb 16th become property of the Late Hatch Classic. The itinerary , directions and entry sheet are on the website. TBW 12154 will not make the race.

A hawk came through the birds this morning as they were trapping and some stayed in the air. Good toss. We will go long again in the next few days. Information for race day went out in the mail today.
