NABC update (7/20/12):

The birds are in excellent health. They are flying very good considering the high temps. We continue to empty the dropping catchers and disinfect the loft a couple times a week. We have started to train. I will be taking it slow because of the heat. I will start to post the training flights when I get all the teams out to 40 miles.

NABC update (6/20/12):

The weather continues to be rainy. The health of the birds is good. Most of The birds are flying well. I changed probiotics and I am now using Primalac; it’s a great product and well worth the extra expense. The birds continue to eat a lot of grit. The mixture is 4 different types of poultry and livestock minerals, Oyster shells, # 2 grit, 3/8 inch smooth pebbles, pink minerals, mega mins, crushed magnesium carbonate block , crushed pick stone and the new Vita king minerals all mixed together. They really love it and seem to thrive on it. I will be doing an inventory check next week.

NABC update (5/30/12):
The weather has been less than favorable having heavy rains 10 out of 12 days. A couple bird were a little droopy; they were separated and medicated. The flock as a whole has been handling the adverse weather conditions very well. The birds were exercised as much possible getting them out between the rains. The older groups are flying good. I continue to settle the younger groups. They are pushed out into the walk in settling cage and back into the loft several times a day. During this damp and cool weather, the dropping catchers were cleaned twice a week and the lofts were disinfected at the same time. Every night I mist spray the air in each section with disinfectant to knock down any viral bacteria.
