Good Evening Breeders,

We have reached out cutoff date for receiving birds, we have around 407 birds in the loft, and we will not be accepting any new entries. Breeders that Pre Paid for Perch Fees and for whatever reasons were not able to fill their team with birds, will have those perch fees carried over for 2014.

All of the birds received as of 5/ (400 birds) have been outside and settled. I will be doing hands on inventory this week and contacting anyone if your bird is missing, I will take replacements till the first of June.

This year’s birds are one of the best groups of birds I have ever received, we have had very few sick birds and the overall health in the loft is great. I contribute much of the overall health to the breeders for sending healthy birds. All of the birds are going outside at the same time, some are doing laps around the loft and some are acting like park pigeons, this is exactly what I want right now, we will get serious after we pull flights and they start routing.

That’s all I have for right now, I will post a new updated bird list as soon as inventory is completed.

Again, I want to thank all of you that have chosen the Shasta Classic to test your breeding against some of the best Breeders in the World. I am really excited about handling and training these world class Race Birds.

Good Morning Breeders,

Big winds and unseasonal heat here in Northern California, I have managed to get all of the birds received as of 4/18 outside and settled, that brings us to 336 birds outside and a total of 376 birds in the loft. Some are doing loops around the loft and some are flying to the ground and back to the loft, just what I want at this time. The overall health in the loft is great, we may have a couple of birds missing off the loft and I will do hands on inventory this week, and make calls on any missing birds.

Everyone I’m sure has noticed I have named all of the birds this year, if you want to change their names you can log in to your account and make the change, or if that does not work e-mail me with the band # and name change and I can change it.

OK, we will be taking birds till the 18th of this month, that’s only 17 more days, I will not extent that date, those of you that have reservations please get your birds here as soon as you can.

Just a short update, the weather here in Northern Cal has been dry and Windy; we have received 99 world class birds this last month, they are all in excellent health and I have managed to get birds received as of 2/22 settled.

We now have 171 Paid perch fees, and 386 bird reservations, more birds are coming every week our gold this year is 500 Birds, anyone that wants to get into the best Little race in America, where all of the birds get 24/7 care now is the time to do it. We will take birds till May 18th.

I would like tip my Hat to Eddie Spetz’s, Fast Eddies Late Hatch Classic, I was able to get down to Eddie’s race a couple of weeks ago, Shipping and Race day was First Class and the birds I handled were in excellent shape, great Job Eddie.

I will be at Fast Eddie’s Late Hatch Classic this coming weekend, and will be able to pick up birds for the Shasta Classic on Sunday 2/17. Please call or e-mail me if anyone has any birds to come up north.

Fast Eddies Late Hatch classic is one of the Top Springtime One Loft Races, Good Luck to Eddie and everyone in the Race. 

February 1st is here, the Loft is ready and so Am I. We will start excepting birds today. We have over 275 birds signed up and 51 Perch Fees already paid for. Hopefully everyone’s breeding program is under way and you are in the process of deciding which babies go to what Races, please consider the Shasta Classic as one of your choices for 2013.

Please make sure your birds can eat, drink, and can get up to a perch, before you ship them here, I think the older the birds the stronger their immune system will be.

I hope everyone had a great Holiday Season, now it’s time to get ready for 2013.

It has stopped raining here in Northern Cal for the time being, and I am in the process of Disinfecting and Prepping the Classic Loft for 2013. I am very excited about the upcoming year, as you can see we have a new updated web site, www.shastaclassic.com and I have purchased a Taruis clocking system, this should eliminate a lot of my clocking headaches. Also this year we will have Five Races out to 350 miles. This five Race Series on the south course will test you birds against some of the best breeders in the USA.

We have room for 500 birds and already have 134 birds registered and 25 birds Pre Paid (Birds on the Bird List with PPP stand for Pre-Paid Perch Fee) Pre Paying guarantees you a spot in the loft, we will only take the first 500 Paid birds, right now you have lots of time, but keep a watch on the bird list and don’t get left out.
