We are hand inventorying all birds and posting as we go. This will take a couple days as we have a lot of birds. Most birds arrived during late March , with April and May being the biggest months. We had two major floods in our area that took out trees and flooded every road in our area that had creek bridges. During these storms we lost access to cable and are having to enter birds late. All the birds are doing well and once we have them all logged, that will be the inventory. Do not worry if you do not see your birds listed yet as we will be adding birds for the next couple days. Thank you
There is one bird that it will not allow me to assign a name to that has gone every race and clocks but never shows up on the basket list. The breeder name remains blank but the bird belongs to the team of Daehn/Miele , band number is NWFI 0029.
This will have to be fixed after the race series, but the bird has gone to and clocked on every race and also went to the final 350 Mile race today. We will add this bird into the averages after the series.
The hauler left at 11;30 tonight and will be at the release in plenty of time to let the birds settle. We will look at the weather closer in the morning and make sure there is no fog or rain in the path. Everything is suppose to be clear sailing by morning with partly cloudy skies with more sun than clouds. SW headwinds 9-12 at release and shortly switching to the west the rest of the way with no winds to exceed 17 mph. Best of luck to all!
The payout is what is listed on the route66race website advertisement less 33 % on each paying position. The payout was based on 450 birds and we only had 300 go to the first race. So subtract 33% from each paying position. All positions are paid by clocking order and any tied positions will be added and divided by the number of birds tied and that will be their winnings. This is a two day race so time ends 30 minutes after sunset Tuesday. We will have a grizzle payout based on the number of 50.00 paid entries.
Good afternoon Breeders
It looks like we will have our 300 Mile Race either Sunday or Monday. Both days will be head winds of 10-15 mph. This will be a good work out for the birds. They have done well thus far. It is hard between all these fronts to get winds of any kind less than this. The payout for each race is on the route66racs ad that is posted on my website. The payout on each prize position in each race will be 33% less based on 300 pigeons paid entry. In the event of a tie of any positions the prizes will be added among those positions and divided by the number of birds tied for that position.
We will entertain only on the Final Race (350 Miles) in a couple weeks and have plenty of good food and drinks availaible. I am hauling all the races but the final 350 so there will be know one home and when I do get home I am worn out so make plans to come to the final Race and I will have a hauler take that one so we can enjoy talking pigeons and relax with some great food! Thank you all and best of luck in the final two races! May the best bird Win!

The birds have loft flown well the last two days and hope to train into head wind short today. I have our cable company installing a new high tech modem and router today to hopefully resolve my upload problem to wincompanion so i don't know if this toss will be live or not. Once he is here this morning i will toss the birds as long as he doesn't take to long.
Today's toss was again from 20 miles. The birds did super! I left the clock on to pick up any late birds from yesterday and maybe catch those the clock missed yesterday. We picked up several birds. 3 while I was on the road this morning and more that had missed the clock yesterday. I will leave the clock on all day and update yesterday's clocking This evening. I just posted today's training toss and took video of the release this morning just so you know I trained again. I go back to 20 miles tomorrow and then we will go 25-30-30-40-50-60-60-75-100 which may change depending on how the birds do and the weather. I may even do two a days from short as well. Thank you and best of luck.
We are very hot again today. The hawk scattered one of the later groups and they are trapping in one and two at a time. Yesterday we had about 10-15 late birds to trap from flying nearly 3 hours in the heat so those stayed home today. They will go 5 miles tomorrow. This hawk is messing things up and I am trying to alter things to get him to leave but he seems to hit at anytime time of day. I can't release late in this heat so the arrivel of the birds from training he has learned. I have altered release times by 30 minutes but releasing in groups so that doesn't do much good. I have not seen him kill a bird but he has hit a couple. I figure he has at one time or another away from my site though. My neighbor watched the groups come in until I got home and only then did the hawk show up on the last group. I may have to let a few skip going tomorrow because of flying so long in the heat today. The weather is breaking this weekend. It is suppose to rain SAT and SUNDAY but cool temps and clearing for most of next week so that will help a bunch. Some of the birds are still in a bit of molt so I am keeping everything short until the heat breaks. Then we will move out more quickly. The birds actually came really good today but the normal late arrivals will show up and those hiding out from the hawk will come in this afternoon when it starts cooling down. All 3 tosses have had the wind in their face and warm and humid. I will upload again this evening.
Thank You and good Luck to all !
Birds went on their first toss today. I turned them loose in several groups and many of the later groups are still flying. I will go every day and post results of the first two or three early tosses in the evening. the birds are going to loft fly on return and that is good, so pay no attention to the clocking order. I am going to do about 3 tosses from 2 miles just to get the birds in the groove of things then start moving them out. Todays toss looks to have been a very good one. The 1st groups were here flying when i arrived.

Rain shower moved in on the birds and I still have a couple outside enjoying it. Also there are 4 birds I did not let out today because I assigning them with an added number. seems I had several birds number 20 and 29. Two other chips were bad. The birds RFL 20 silver and NWFI 29 BB are here. They will be RFL 201 and NWFI 290 in order for them to clock. Two others have bad chips and were isolated and their chips will be replaced or reassigned.Birds are still molting a bit but are loft flying everyday. We have had pop up storms and rain the last couple weeks but have been lucky enough to get the birds in befor any storms hit. Today was just a steady rain shower for 20 minutes and didn't bother the birds but they loved it! I start flagging and training will begin in September. Races start in October so we are looking good! That is it for now. Good luck to all and thank you for flying the route66race 2016.
Birds are doing good and although we have been very hot up until this weekend they have been out everyday. Since it cooled for a few days, I am going to do a hands on Inventory because I want everything to have their PMV-1 Booster shot and check all birds over close before we start getting them ready for road training in Sept. We still have close to 400 pigeons so things look pretty darn good. Good luck to all.
Thank you all !
