400 MILE RACE
Good afternoon, Breeders,
The 400-mile race will be held in 2 to 3 weeks. The prize money starts at $23,693, and with $100 added for each bird entry, with approximately 600 birds, this could produce an added $51,000. This could be a Large Prospective Purse. The race will pay out in Clocking Order.
Payout will be determined on prospective entries.
3 ways to enter.
1) You may choose to enter your birds' Entry is $100 each.
2) Non-entered birds will be sent to the race and will not be eligible for any prizes.
3 Last option: I will hold your birds back at shipping time, and have it returned to you.
All prizes and birds will start to be shipped back to breeders 2-3 weeks after the 400-mile race. Make sure all your change of addresses are up to date. That includes your W-9s.
Good luck to all,
For any questions, please call 760 900 6486.
MISTAKE!
I made a Colossal Mistake with the prize funds, and I forgot to subtract the winnings from the 175-mile race and 225-mile race from the purse. My formula for figuring out the breakdown was flawed.
I realize that most of the prize winners are disappointed, but to move this forward, I must adjust the payouts. I will give the affected winners a free perch fee for next year's race.
And FYI, the same formula was used on last year's prize payouts, which I just discovered.
We will be basketing birds here on Thursday, Feb. 22nd, at 9:00 am.
The next day, Feb. 23rd, we will be releasing birds in Gallup, New Mexico, which is our 325-mile race and our last average speed race. Lunch will be served at noon on Friday. Hope to see you all here on race day.
“It’s been a tough year training with the weather and predators.”
Our 400-mile race will be 2 weeks after Gallup.
Good Luck to all!
The 225 race has been changed to Friday Feb. 16th. Our main goal is to get all the birds to the 325 main race. Hope to see you all here Feb. 23rd.
