HURRICANE

We hope this finds everyone well

We are on hold here until the hurricane calms down.  We fly the 200 out of Waynesboro, Ga.  Here are the FORCASTED winds:

Friday and Saturday-25-35 N.  Sunday-20-30 North.  Monday-10-20 NE.  Tuesday-10-15/Heavy Overcast North

we may be flying Wednesday if the winds don't calm down.  We trained from 50 miles yesterday, the birds came together for the first time in a while.  We will train again, we have rain for the next two days.

We still are short some fees, we will remove your birds if they don't get here by the 200 basketing.  We also have had two bad checks.  Come on guys, that's nonsense.  I will be in touch with those two.  Get this done right, right NOW!!

200 MILE RACE

FIRST, CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR TOP FIVE MONEY WINNERS.

WE ARE OBVIOUSLY, WATCHING THE HURRICANE TO SEE WHAT ITS IMPACT WILL BE ON US.  AS WE RACE FROM THE SE, IT COULD FORCE CHANGES.  WE HAD HOPED TO FLY SATURDAY, BUT WE MAY HAVE TO PUSH BACK A COUPLE OF DAYS.  WHILE NOW, THEY ARE CALLING FOR MINIMAL RAIN, THE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE 20-30 mph FROM THE NORTH.  WE WILL NOT RACE IN THOSE CONDITIONS.  THE HIGH WINDS ARE CURRENTLY FORCASTED FOR FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY.  WE WILL SIMPLY HAVE TO WATCH.

THE BIRDS WERE LOFT FLOWN TODAY, AND WILL BE TRAINED FROM 50 MILES ON WEDNESDAY, AND POSSIBLY ONCE MORE WEATHER PERMITTING.  SOME WERE PREDICTABLY TIRED TODAY, JUST WANTED TO GET THEIR BLOOD MOVING.

150 SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY OR SATURDAY

WE WILL FLY THE 150 ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY.  WE ARE BEING HAMMERED BY STORMS, AND VERY UNSTABLE WEATHER.  TRAINING IS ON STANDBY UNLESS WE CAN FIND A WINDOW. LOFT FLYING WILL BE LIKWWISE.  AS WE TRANSTION FROM SUMMER TO FALL, THE WEATHER BECOMES VERY UNSTABLE AND UNPREDICTABLE IN THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY.

WE HAVE ENLISTED THE ADVISE OF LARRY COMBS, LONG TIME LIBERATOR OF THE NC COMBINE.  THE MAYBERRY CLASSIC ALSO USES LARRY.  HE HAS A KNACK  FOR SEEING UNFAVORABLE SITUTATIONS.

SOME OF YOU STILL NEED TO GET YOUR FEES HERE. YOUR BIRDS WILL BE PULLED IF YOU DO NOT GET THEM HERE PROMPTLY.

GOOD LUCK,

TIM AND KENNY

ANOTHER CRAZY DAY IN NC

Well, the birds got another workout today. Hawk struck them on release, birds going in every direction.  Looks like almost everyone is home, I will loft fly tomorrow and put the clock.  Thsee birds are getting some serious wing time, whether they want it or not.

Our initial thought on the extra 3-4 birds sent as replacements, giving the breeder over 4, was to take the chips off the extra birds (anyone over 4)  As per the Breeders request, those extra birds have been sold to other flyers who do not have 4.  The new owner will pay all entry fees and be responsible for W9 fees.  This not only gives the Breeders a chance to see the bird fly, it also increases the capital.  It would be a shame to have the bird here for months and not see it get to race.

We will get a 50 mile toss in before we fly the 150.  I'm sure the birds can't wait!

HAWK ATTACK

Today I released the birds from 40 miles. They came out of the carrier, grouped up, we're taking a circle, and a hawk came from above them, and hit right in the middle of the flock.  I have not seen that, seen um chase the birds, but never from above. The birds exploded in every direction, whatever direction they were going, they put their head down and never looked back. The clock will be on, we are out about 19 or 20, I would think they will work back in.

RACE FEES ARE NOW DUE

We hope this finds everyone well.

The Activation race was held today.  The birds flew in a very stiff headwind, and I was proud of their response.  If they didn't lay into it, they would have ended up in Mexico.  Warm, nasty Northeast wind, 1100 yard event, they did well.

Race fees are now due.  I will leave the clock on, so if you have a straggler, you can wait to send your fees for 2 days.  If you have all your birds, please send your fees promptly.  I have a large distaste for this delay, as I like to race once a week, like a YB schedule.  The birds are doing good, I hate to interrupt it.  I can and will train, but it's not the same.  Training and racing are two different things to me.  Get your fees here, I am not going to wait two weeks to race.  As per the rules, you must activate every bird here, you cannot pick and choose.  Failure to follow the rules will result in disqualification of your team.

If you go to results then trainers, you will see the inventory which I used as a basket list for this race only.  I did have several birds with dead chips,  They were corrected and the list is accurate.

As always, thank you for flying the race and good luck.

THANKS

CRAZY DAY

WE HOPE THIS FINDS EVERYONE WELL

We tossed the birds from 70 miles today, returns were slow.  Obviously something broke the flock apart, and scattered the birds hell, west, and crooked.  We are missing about 25 birds, hopefully they will work in tomorrow.  The birds came all day, many singles.  They went to school let's hope they learned something.  No bird seemed to be toasted, as it was not overly hot, that's why I went today.  The birds will be rested, back to 60 miles on Tuesday, and the activation will be late this week, if everything works out.  I was pleased with the condition of the birds, if they weren't in shape, this could have been ugly.   We will get em going.  Our job is take take excellent care of the birds, and find the good birds.  Have a great holiday.

50 MILE TOSS

WE HOPE THIS FINDS EVERYONE WELL

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
