Congratulations to the winners of PREP RACE #3:

Just FYI - I've turned the wifi off to the coop for the night (those of you know that our connection to the loft is sometimes a little patchy - as our loft is quite a distance from our house).

I will make sure to update the late stragglers tomorrow as I've left the clock running to capture any that still return.

Morning everyone 

Rick had the birds released at 8:30 this morning from McFADDEN road just on the outskirts of North Bay.

I will be posting the basket list momentarily.

We have a release video - Rick has been trying to send but reception poor where he is - I'll get it posted asap when he's closer to home.

Sorry for lack of daily posts - I've been under the weather but hopefully will be feeling better soon!

CONGRATULATIONS to our PREP RACE #2 winners:

Rick was hopeful to hope PREP RACE #3 tomorrow (Monday) however, the weather is not cooperating so he's now hopeful for a Tuesday race.  We are still aiming for our MAIN RACE on the weekend (Sunday, Oct. 22nd) - fingers crossed the weather permits.

Hi everyone

Just FYI - the speeds are looking fast.  There is a tailwind - and the race station that I put in the system was a bit far.  Rick released the birds between Gravenhurst and Huntsville.

Wanted to share that information.  There is currently 132 birds clocked in at 11:40am our time.

Video of the release to come!  GPS reading was taken at release - I'll try and change the coordinates in the race station online.

The birds are on their way to 150 miles for prep race #2!

The weather seemed to cooperate for the plan and it's on.

As you have probably seen from looking at the weather - it's not cooperating lately.

We're watching the weather very closely.  As of right now, Rick is hoping to get Prep Race #2 in this week - likely Thursday.

I'll keep you posted as to what things are looking likely closer to Thursday.

Hi everyone

Well prep race #1 went well - and the race is still open to those late stragglers who still want to make it home.

The birds returned home quicker than Rick anticipated but they seemed to have quite a tail wind that we didn't expect.

Four of the birds came home banged up from the wind - so they will be out of commission for a few days and will miss the next prep race.

Hi everyone

Just learned that the birds were released at 11:30 this monring.  Approximately 100 miles.

I will be heading home over the lunch hour to try and set up the live clocking for you!

Nothing like last minute excitement!

Good morning everyone,

Rick basketed 290 birds and they're off this morning - a bit later and a bit unexpected.

The weather was awful last night and the weather forecast looked dismal for today.  However, when we got up this morning, the forecast was changing and Rick started to prep for what could be PREP RACE #1 today!

Currently 10am - the birds are on the road headed to 100 miles (I'm unsure of where the release will be and if indeed it will happen).

The weather is being watched and we'll see if the birds are released.  I prepped the module for a race, so we're ready that way.

I'll hopefully know more soon and keep you posted!
