Trying it again.  Hoping to get our final race in, this coming Thursday.  Birds were eager to get out and fly this morning and wasn't much of a job to flag and keep them up.  Please let me know if you are intending to come watch the final.   Have a good week. 

Our final race day has been jinxed again!! Head winds of 9-13mph with gusts to 30mph along with rain showers are predicted the last 200 miles of the course on Sunday.   You will be updated when we find a better day.  

This week a storm front is moving thru Wednesday to Friday making it not feasible to pull off a long race of 350 miles. Sunday however looks better, and that is what we are planning for.   We will be hosting a gathering to watch the birds come home with lunch being served at 12:30.   Please RSVP,  ASAP as we prepare for the gathering.  We'll have a couple more tosses in the mean time to keep the birds in shape. 

215 birds were released this morning from 150 miles, under clear, calm skies and 27 degrees.  Predicted variable winds 2-7 along the course, mostly beneficial, tail and side.  It might get to be 62 degrees by the time they arrive.   ETOA  10:30 PDT

250 birds were released this morning from our 309 mile station at Winnemucca ,Nevada under clear, calm skies and 50 degrees.  Along the course I see variable ENE - W  winds to 5 mph. Temperatures 65-75 degrees.  ETOA 1:30 PDT

      295 birds were released this morning from McDermitt, Nevada our 250 mile station under clear skies, NNE at 8 and 54 degrees.  Along the course this they will have 3-7 winds on the right shoulder and 65-70 degree temps. Air quality is good all along, in the low to mid 30's.  ETOA  12:30 PDT.   

We are having some really nice weather here but the smoke is still a big problem.  Since we are needing a long corridor of clear air as we attempt to race pigeons from 250-350 miles away it is not happening this week.  I'll try for a long toss on Sunday maybe 80 miles.  Have a great weekend.

345 birds were released under calm and clear skies this morning at 7:00 PDT.  Variable winds 3-7 mph and clear air  are predicted along the course.  ETOA 11:30 PDT.   

Check your inventories as we have had 24 birds lost on the 124 mile toss return this week.  Only 2 are in struggling condition.  Race #2 is scheduled for this Thursday  so make sure they are activated. We had a 50 mile toss today and am planning a 60 mile for Tuesday.  I temporially placed all the single release tosses under race results so there is a 60,80,124, and last weeks race 166 mile for easy access for your birds results.  Have a Great week!!!

       The birds have been tossed now to 124 miles I will continue to road train them as long as the conditions allow.  Our first race of the series I am planning for Thursday Aug. 26th.  This will be a 160 miler.  It appears the hot days are past and are not in the forecast, and winds are bearable.
