Well as of yesterday I would be saying the birds are doing great, they look great but last night they did not want to loft fly and when I flagged them they landed in the tree.Today it was very hot and they did the same thing.I know now we have a hiiden respiratory infection starting and in the morning the treatment will start, this time doxy, tylan combo.Traing will be held off for a few days and or I will only take them short.I see some races are already having high losses in the races and not only do the birds have to look good but to me they have to act good for me to push them.I feal that the birds need to exercise a hour a day atleast and if not I must get them to do it and I maybe wrong but once birds are trained and some of the duds are lost on a few bad tosses or a first race if they are healthy their should be min. losses after that. This is not so in some races where there is poor returns race after race.Myself as a handler want my whole team home within a hour of my first bird that way the"team" was working for me and not just 1 bird or 2.Well we will see what this week has in store and we still have plenty of time till the first race. |

Todays 50 mile training toss the birds had a head wind so they worked hard and all got broke up even my older birds and the others on the van.We should have about 80 one lofters and at this point we have about 10 out.so with the way other birds did we made out good,I'm sure some more will check in the morning. We plan on going 2-3 times a week till the 1st race. The birds will be more then mentally and physically ready and we will not have the results that alot of races have with high losses from only 100 miles. With the traffic birds in our area we loose the deadbeats around the loft plus we train the birds like our own to compete not just home.So watch the clock and we will post all traings from this point on. |

the birds are still doing good, we had to chip 3 yesterday that were not here when we installed the chips.Yesterday the birds went 35 miles with a headwind and had a good working toss and I left out my older veteran young birds with them, all came in small groups.the plan is thursday to go 50 miles with them and we will try the online clocking for you all to watch.Keep looking at the training since every nice day they will go. |

This past week the birds trained well, and we might be able to train again tues if the weather clears out.Today the birds flew 1.5 hrs on their own so they are fealing good.We are going to wait to have everyone send in the remaining perch fees on the classic birds till closer to the 1st race so you only have to send 1 check.i hope to have a new video up this week and once we hit 50 miles we will have the online clocking up and running.the loft is coming around we have 6 sections that should be complete by the end of the week. |

Today the birds went 15 miles and did it good.I got a phone call last night and picked up 2 onelofters that were within 5 miles of my place, and I just got a call and 1 is at a loft 10 miles from here,I believe all 3 were lost at the bad 5 miles toss we had.I hear of people all over with having high losses and the way the birds were flying and tripping I would of bet we were home free this year but last week really turned that thinking around. Its just hard to figure that when they are flying and have a clear day the birds can see as far away as some that I am having to go and pick up.So as a summary they went 10 miles yesterday and 15 today with success. |

This past week we took the birds 2 miles 2 times, 5 miles 2 times and the 2nd toss we got hit hard again.I gave them the weekend off and took them 5 miles today and they came as a group. In the morning I will take them 8 miles. The ones that are here look good but since alot were out overnight I started them on 5 in 1 incase they picked up something. My older group has been 6o miles and training great so i know the whole bunch has to be healty or my own birds wouldn't be coming good.
I have decided due to the bad flyaway at the coop I am going to give all birds that do not go to the 1st race a free perch fee next year.We are planning a super new and much larger layout and with a new 1600 state of the art new loft, we are going to take one loft racing to the next level with EVERYTHING layed out for all to see including the health program weekly, exercising and traing dates. |

Today is wednesday and as I was working up at the loft I got a phone call about a one loft bird up in New York.I suppose it was 1 lost sat night when they flew off.It has been hot and humid here today and as I was sweating like a fool working at the coop, my mind was wondering on the birds.I hate that we lost about 30 birds just off the loft in 1 day.We did loose about 30-40 due to health issues over the few months and after they were poxxed. That number is higher then I would like but some birds just do not have the natural immunity to hold up no matter what health program is used. But with my own birds sitting in the same pen I have lost or had the opportunity to loose just as many as you and wish I could know when the traffic birds are in the area so I do not open the door.
I want to offer a special on all the birds lost up to date, all birds lost will get a half price perch fee next near for each bird lost to date.We will post what health program will be done to the day and then you can choose which birds to send and you will know ahead of time the food and supplements that they will recieve. We have a very unique series of races next year that will be offered and will offer alot of bang for your buck. |

Today is tues aug 3rd,I took the birds 2 miles the past 2 days and plan on doing that the next 3 days staight. If you look on the live training we tested a toss and found the 2nd antenna cord was damaged, but we do have a hand scanned list of all the birds that actually went to the first toss.I will upload the video for you all to see also.We had the wood delivered today for the loft and boy it is 3 huge stacks and that is not all of it yet.My plan is by the end of the weekend have the end of the loft up so the birds have access to it if they choose.I have heard from alot of the locals that training is not going well with many loft loosing over half of their birds on short tosses. As for my own team that is in with the one lofters,I have 39 birds and they have had 6 tosses and are out to 15 miles.I have some that I put over around june 1st that are going with the onelofters.I think we lost plenty around the loft with traffic birds going over so hopefully we will not have the luck that many others are having. Please keep in mind our one loft race is very different do to its location on the east coast. We have birds going over us to new york, new jersey, and delaware so they have to learn to break many times before they even see a crate. |

Today its friday morning and I just got done installing all chips on the birds.I will scan all chips by hand to double check all birds and numbers match and then set up for the online clocking. We should be up and running with the online clocking by mon if everything goes good. The birds flew over 1 hr this morning on their own and I may take them training next week a mile just to get them use to coming out of the crates at a different spot. |

The birds are doing good, most are tripping and we still have about a dozen who are roof huggers. We have had some really hot and humid weather the past 3 days so i only got about 20 mins out of the birds. We are doing the chips today and will have them posted in about 2 weeks and then training will start. As for the loft,we should have the insurance check this week and we are already starting to take down the back half of the loft.I am going to do the work myself to save money and since I can't really do the whole loft till the races are over i have some time.I hope to have the tree guys down within 2 weeks to clear about a acre out for the new addition. The loft total should be about 1280 square feet, with many new features. |
