Good Morning America!
We had our first birds arrive yesterday, Two from Leonard Lee and Three from Sean Bohns. When you look at the Birds List on the Web site all Birds that have a PPPF designator are Pre Paid Perch Fee’s. You can now go on line and pay your perch fees with you credit card or bank card, you can also send your perch fee’s with the birds. I would like to Congratulate Ahsan Khan for placing 44th and all of the other US Flyers in the top 100 birds in the SCMDPR, Ahsan is one of our Shasta Classic breeders and has scored in many of our one loft races here in the US and has quietly become one of the best breeders here in the western US. I am very excited to get the 2012 Shasta Classic started and am looking forward to handling all of your World Class Birds. Please give me a call or send an e-mail to give me a heads up when you send you’re Birds. When your birds arrive the first thing out of the box I give them a drink, let them rest a bit and then vaccinate for PMV and give them a Spartix tablet for canker, then they go into the isolation section for seven to ten days before going onto the main loft. |

I hope everyone had a Great Holiday season and wish everyone a Great 2012! We here at the 2012 Shasta Classic are getting ready to receive your World Classic Birds starting Feb 1st. I spent Saturday Pressure washing the inside of the loft and will do a disinfect wash down this week. We had a great series last year and are looking forward to another great year. We have added a Free Perch Fee for every Four Birds entered this year plus a new High Rollers Class that some of the High Rollers wanted(please check web site). At this time we have 136 birds registered for 2012. If you would like to register for the 2012 Shasta Classic please do, you can go to the web site www.shastaclassic.com to register for 2012, if you have any trouble with the web site Please call or e-mail me and I will get you in for 2012. We are looking to fill up this year; our goal is to get 500 birds this year. Please make sure your birds can eat, drink, and can get up to a perch, before you ship them here, I think the older the birds the stronger their immune system will be. One other thing I would like to pass on before this season begins is my friend Jon Hans from the Gold Country Challenge will not be sponsoring a Race this year and I wish everyone would take time and go to their web site www.goldcountrychallenge.com and read the reasons they will not be hosting a race, it gives everyone a little incite into what one loft managers go through. Please take a time and read it. Please go to the web site www.shastaclassic.com to read the rules and about the new optional High Roller Series Ok, here we go into 2012!! Good luck to everyone in 2012 I hope everyone is a winner! Life is Good Dan SHASTA CLASSIC 530-223-1913 CELL 530-941-9360 |

Sunday, July 31, 2011 Good Evening Everyone, We had another perfect toss this AM, but as you can see the clock is still missing birds. Tomorrow I will start going through all the antennas and connections, this is very frustrating, everything works great when I am not connected to the internet and miss’s birds when it is connected. Any way, we will get it corrected. The birds are coming great we have 298 in the loft and I will continue to toss this coming week, 10mi Tue, 10mi Thursday, and 15/20mi on Sat. The weather has been 65 to 70 degrees in the mornings so the heat is not a real problem on these short tosses, the birds are coming great flying for another 20/30min after they arrive. Thursday, July 28, 2011 Good News, Bad News Good news, all the birds are in the loft, Bad news the clock is driving me to drink! We tossed at two miles yesterday and were missing 30birds; I was going crazy trying to figure out how that could happen. I left the clock run all night and restarted it this AM, I did a loft fly and clocked the birds all the birds, they were all there, which means they were all in the loft yesterday. This happened last year, there is a bug in the system, and we will get it out that’s another reason for starting early. I was talking to my good friend Steve Sterchi over at the Sierra Ranch Classic about the clocks and between the both of us our knowledge of computers would maybe fill a quarter of a thimble. But we’ll get them fixed; the important thing is the birds are doing great! I will toss 5mi on Friday. Life is Good Dan |

Monday, July 25, 2011 We had our first toss the AM, the birds had five days of Aureomycin followed by some good bacteria this last we and have been routing out over an Hour and a half and were ready to go. We have a few missing birds tonight, but that always happens on these first toss’s the Tree Huggers and Roof Sitters will disappear and we can get on with the real training. I will be going down the road every other day and will go back the two mi toss on Wednesday, starting this early allows me to take it slow. If the weather and everything goes right I will try to get in a couple of 100mi toss before the first Race. I don’t want to clutter up your e-mail with updates every other day so please watch the web Site for updates; I will only use the e-mail for something important. Go to Web site, click Training and Races, CLICK RESULTS, go to training Race, click the training race and find your name or Loft and click on it and it will show you all of your birds. Do not pay attention to the clocking times at these sort tosses, the birds get home and fly for another 30mins Life is Good Dan |

Monday, July 18, 2011 Inventory for Monday July 18, 2011 is posted, I hand scanned all of the birds, Go to Web site, click Training and Races, Click results, find your name or Loft and click on it and it will show you all of your birds. I am running the birds thru the training trailer for their morning flight, they are routing out now over an Hour so I plan to start training next week and will be posting the toss’s, even the short ones. I know that the short toss do not mean a lot but everyone likes to see if there bird is still there or not. So Monday next week if the weather is good we will go 2mi. and start the 2011 training.
